Shabu Shabu in Den Haag

A very unpleasant experience. The food is good, but the staff make it clear that customer service is a foreign concept to them. After our lunch and drinks were finished, I needed to take a pill so I asked for a glass of water. I was refused this by both the waitress and the manager. The manager said that "Dutch law requires that we have tap water in our restaurant, but it does not require that I serve it." I do not understand what he thought he would lose if I had a glass of tap water, but whatever it was, it was more important to him than losing a customer.
