De Vief Heringe in Sittard

A typical example of a modern Dutch restaurant, trying to please all kinds of people at every hour of the day, whether it's for lunch, teatime or dinner. As a result, the menu is rather limited, with no vegetarian options at all (that's a bit old-fashioned, isn't it?). Prices for a main dish are moderate, in the 15-25 euro range, but apart from some fries, they don't serve more than a bit of salad or some fried onions or carrots: a clever way to cut down the costs, but not adding to the dining experience. All desserts are the same price, but we found them far too sweet (unless you still fancy some cheese). All in all, not a very impressive cuisine, but the service was very friendly and professional.
